Hiring Steps for Graduate Assistants
- Please use the current Offer Letter template for the Graduate Assistant offer letter.

- Attach a signed Graduate Assistant Offer Letter to the role form.
- The Department submits an ePAF for compensation.
- Graduate Assistants are paid a stipend over the duration of their assistantship (AY or semester). Please use the contract dates found here.
- If they are to be paid for additional employment (outside of the primary assistantship) the student must submit the in FlashLine.
- Upon approval, one ePAF should be submitted for each additional employment assignment using position # 992260.
- The Department submits the Graduate Assistant Tuition Waiver (GTW) workflow .
- Confirm the student is registered for the minimum required credits prior to submitting the GTW.

- Confirm the student is registered for the minimum required credits prior to submitting the GTW.
- Academic Personnel will send employment forms to the Graduate Assistant via an electronic signature platform.
- Employment forms will include the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and instructions on how to make an appointment to verify eligibility.
- Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 must be finalized in person no later than three business days after the contract date.
