My name is Autumn Ohl, and I’m currently an major at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ set to graduate in the spring of 2025.
Deciding where to go to college was one of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make to date. Looking back, I can confidently say that С»ÆƬÊÓƵ was the right choice for me.
When I was looking at schools, I had a few things in mind: a strong program in my field, a welcoming community and a place where I could grow both academically and personally. С»ÆƬÊÓƵ checked all those boxes.
From the first time I stepped onto campus, I felt a sense of home.
The combination of academic opportunities and the inviting atmosphere was exactly what I wanted for my college experience.
One of the things that helped me find my place at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ was the variety of student services and organizations available. During my first year, with the help of a few friends, I co-founded the Women in Engineering club. I also joined the High-Power Rocket Team, which gave me a strong sense of belonging within my college.
I think one of the best ways to get involved on campus is by attending events and joining clubs. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re into academics, athletics or creative arts. Getting involved not only helps you meet new people but also opens doors to opportunities you might not have thought possible.
At С»ÆƬÊÓƵ, you’re not just a number—you’re a member of the community, a student with a name. That’s something you might not experience at some of the larger universities you may be considering.
If I could give one piece of advice to a high school senior considering С»ÆƬÊÓƵ, it would be to dive in headfirst. College is a time for exploration, and С»ÆƬÊÓƵ offers the perfect environment to do just that. There’s a sense of community here that makes it easy to feel connected, whether you’re a commuter or living on campus. You’re never alone in figuring things out; there’s always someone to help, whether it’s a professor, a fellow student or one of the many student organizations.
Looking back, I’m so glad I chose С»ÆƬÊÓƵ.
It’s a place that fosters growth, both academically and personally, and I’ve made memories and connections that will last a lifetime. For any high school senior weighing their options, I’d say С»ÆƬÊÓƵ is a place where you can find your people, discover your passions and prepare yourself for the future—all while having an incredible college experience.
