Davin K. Ebanks was born on Grand Cayman Island where he spent his formative years on the water learning the lore of seafaring heritage from his grandfather. His work primarily utilizes glass to explore his personal and cultural history and examine the relationship between identity and environment.

Davin’s wide-ranging international exhibition record includes SOFA Chicago, the National Biennial Exhibition: Fine Contemporary Craft, and CONTEXT Art Miami during Art Basel week, to name a few. He is a recipient of the Silver Heritage Star from the Cayman National Cultural Foundation for his contributions to creativity in the Arts and his work is published in A-Z of Caribbean Art, by Robert & Christopher Publishers. He has also published in the peer-reviewed journal on his research into blending CNC fabrication techniques with traditional glassblowing processes to create unique artworks that cannot be made by either method alone.

Davin’s glass sculptures are in the collection of His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, The Kerry & C. Betty Davis Collection of African American Art and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI). His large-scale glass and concrete public sculpture, Adjacent, permanently marks the entrance to the NGCI. He was recently awarded the Bendel Hyde’s Award for excellence (Best of Show) at the .
