The С»ÆƬÊÓƵ College of Business Administration announces New York Times bestselling author Liza Mundy as keynote speaker for the 2018 Spirit of Women in Business conference. The conference will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
Mundy is an award-winning reporter who has authored three books that have been featured on the New York Times bestsellers list. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and a Master of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Virginia.
Her 2009 biography on former First Lady Michelle Obama, Michelle, has been translated into 16 languages. Her book The Richer Sex, published in 2013, explores the forces behind women’s rising economic power and the way this impacts marriage, dating, sex and family life. Her latest book, Code Girls, is about the more than 10,000 women who served as codebreakers during World War II. Code Girls is due to hit shelves in October.
Mundy served as director for the Breadwinning and Caregiving programs for the New America Foundation. Additionally, Mundy is a contributing editor for Politico Magazine and has written for publications such as Time, the Washington Monthly, The Guardian and Huffington Post. Mundy is also a frequent commentator on national television, radio and news outlets. She has received fellowships from the Japan Society, the Marine Biological Laboratory and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.
The annual Spirit of Women in Business Conference brings together women from diverse professional backgrounds. Last year, more than 250 business professionals, along with undergraduate and graduate students from northeast Ohio and beyond, attended the event. The day-long conference includes a keynote address with Q&A, lunch and breakout sessions, each with presentation options for attendees to choose from.
