Looking back on my time in the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ ASL/English Interpreting Program, I am filled with os many positive memories that it's hard to know where to begin. Of course, the learning environment was extremely productive, supportive, and provided varying perspectives on all aspects of what interpreters do, but the program was much more than that.
It was a passionate group of both working and future interpreters who believed wholeheartedly in leaving a positive mark on every place we go and individual we serve. Our cohort grew immensely together during those four short years and became a tight-knit group. I wouldn’t be who I am today without my fellow 2019 graduates!
Their mentorship program even paired me up with the wonderful person who would later become my roommate during final practicum. ASEI ensures each student is able to become a successful, working interpreter with the proper tools to thrive in the professional environment and function as a life-long learner.
I am forever grateful to my professors, peers, and deaf community members who aided in my graduating with the privilege of working in my dream career. I am proud to be a С»ÆƬÊÓƵ ASEI Alumnus.
