Angela Spalsbury, Ph.D., of Chesterland, Ohio, is the Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of С»ÆƬÊÓƵ at Geauga in Burton, Ohio, and Twinsburg Academic Center in Twinsburg, Ohio. A С»ÆƬÊÓƵ alumna, Dr. Spalsbury left her position as professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Youngstown State University and joined С»ÆƬÊÓƵ on Jan. 1, 2018.

Dr. Spalsbury was once chair of Youngstown State’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics since 2013. She first joined the department in 2001 and rose the ranks from assistant professor to associate professor to professor and chair. Prior to joining Youngstown State, she worked at John Carroll University in University Heights, OH; Hiram College in Hiram, OH; and the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Her research interests include functional analysis, mathematics and art, measure theory, and operator theory. Dr. Spalsbury is a member of the American Mathematical Society, the Association for Women in Mathematics, and the Mathematical Association of America. She served as Pi Mu Epsilon’s president, a national mathematics honorary society.

Dr. Spalsbury earned three degrees – a Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Philosophy – in pure mathematics from С»ÆƬÊÓƵ. She also earned a Master of Science from the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
