Tell us a little about your research:

I investigate the role of chirality (handedness) in soft matter, develop displays and smart windows.

What are you hoping to accomplish?

To develop a smart window which can control privacy and radiant energy flow. 

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Be curious and do something useful.

Who is someone you admire, and why?

My father, who was a farmer and raised seven children, twisted my arm to study.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

Playing sports, playing bridge and gardening 

What does it mean to you to be included in the top 2% in your field?

I’m so happy to be included.
