In accordance with the order of Ohio Department of Health director Amy Acton, M.D. to stay at home to slow the spread of COVID-19, Porthouse Theatre regretfully announces the cancellation of its 2020 season, scheduled for June 11 – August 9, 2020.
As a result of this difficult decision, the productions of Little Shop of Horrors, BKLYN, and West Side Story will not take place as scheduled and Porthouse’s grounds will be closed.
“I can’t imagine a summer without our Porthouse family,” said producing artistic director Terri Kent, “but, more importantly, I can’t imagine a world without you and that is why we are cancelling the Porthouse Theatre 2020 season. You are my brothers and sisters and it is our combined voices that make this world a better place. And, this summer, we can do that by standing united and supporting the worldwide effort to mitigate this disease.”
Contingent upon licensing availability, Porthouse Theatre plans on producing the scheduled 2020 season during the summer of 2021 and will release more information on next summer’s season later this year.
The Porthouse box office is currently working to contact all Porthouse subscribers to arrange for refunds.
