Medical professionals and families to benefit from Living with Grief® program on May 3

The Hospice Foundation of America’s (HFA) Living With Grief® program, “Transforming Loss: Finding Potential for Growth” will be presented locally at СƬƵ at Stark on Thursday, May 3.

The seminar will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Main Hall Auditorium, 6000 Frank Ave. NW.

Once again sponsored by the Canton Regional Area Health Education Center (AHEC), the 25th annual program will be moderated by Frank Sesno, former CNN anchor and current director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The program will feature a panel of experts, who will explore the most current theoretical perspectives on loss and grief, emphasizing that loss engenders not only grief, but also growth.

The presentation addresses the phenomena of post-traumatic growth, and includes self-help tips for individuals grieving a loss and strategies professionals can use to assist individuals. This educational program combines presentations by experts with video, discussion and additional complimentary learning materials.

The program is free and open to the public. No tickets are required. Registration begins at noon. Two (2.0) continuing education (CE) credits are available for a wide range of professions. To register for this program, arrange for continuing education credits or to receive more information, contact Sally Lavery, director, Canton Regional AHEC, at 330-244-3293 or slavery_gst@kent.edu.
