Nursing Faculty Selected by OADN to National Task Force

Dr. Mariann Harding, СƬƵ at Tuscarawas professor of nursing technology, has been appointed to the national Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) COVID-19 Task Force.

According to the OADN, the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has impacted nursing education programs across the country and provided many challenges over the past few months. This pandemic has required a transformation in the teaching/learning process. With the formation of the Task Force, the OADN strives to support nursing education programs while addressing this transition.

The Task Force is comprised of individuals who will present a national perspective, provide guided consideration and generate ideas to address future teaching/learning structures and opportunities in nursing education.

“It should be an excellent opportunity to influence best nursing education practices when faced with challenging times such as these,” said Harding.

As part of the Task Force, Harding will help identify innovative methods of restructuring the teaching/learning process; develop strategies for providing meaningful clinical learning opportunities; provide strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of changes in the teaching/learning process; recognize modifications needed in nursing education curriculum based on the pandemic; and discuss and create a plan for collaborating with industry partners.

Harding earned a Ph.D. at West Virginia University, an MSN at Catholic University, a BSN at Ohio University and a diploma at Mt. Carmel School of Nursing.
