K-12 and Educators

The College of Aeronautics and Engineering offers a variety of K-12 programs for future aeronautics and engineering leaders who are interested in aeronautics, aviation, engineering, engineering technology, computing, and systems. We believe that young people should be given opportunities – beyond the classroom – to explore STEM and interact with fellow future change-makers!

College of Aeronautics and Engineering Camps

The College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) has been hosting camps for more than a decade, inspiring boys and girls to explore the world of aeronautics experts and engineers.

FAA Aircraft Pilots Workforce Development Program

A series of 3-day train-the-trainer workshops will be provided to high school teachers from Northeast Ohio and the surrounding region as part of the workforce development program for high school students. The high school teachers will be trained in a curriculum that will be a meaningful experience in preparing students to become aircraft pilots and/or unmanned aircraft systems operators.  As part of their training, the teachers will be given the opportunity to earn a through in class and online training. A total of four workshops will be held at the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ campus and airport. Housing and meals will be provided.

Girls in Aviation Day

Girls in Aviation Day is a 4 hour event targeted towards (but not limited to) young girls ages 8-18 that exposes them to the endless possibilities the world of aviation offers. Attendees will participate in numerous activities at several stations throughout the day. Participants have the chance to fly drones, try out a flight simulator, and conduct a pre-flight check inside a real plane.

Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

Join С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s Women in Engineering Club for Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day! Girls and other gender minorities in grades 7-12 are invited to campus for a day of STEM activities to introduce participants to engineering and related career fields. Participants will receive campus tours as well as tours of the Aeronautics and Engineering Building, home of the College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE), before rotating through a variety of activity sessions where they will be given a real-world problem to solve with the tools and technology in front of them.

High School Visits

We are happy to welcome large high school and community groups for on-campus visits. Students have the opportunity to tour facilities, meet with current students/faculty, and participate in hands-on activities experienced in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ. Group tours are available for groups of 8 or more. Students must be in 6th-12th grade.
