Media Advocacy Minor

The Media Advocacy minor prepares students to explore advocacy as both a professional discipline and an act of engaged citizenship.

The minor will deepen student understanding of individual activism, group advocacy and social movements. Students will become prepared for a professional career in advocacy by equipping them with theoretical and applied approaches for achieving meaningful social, political, and cultural change through the use of media tools and concepts.

"Joining the Media Advocacy minor has opened my mind to the possibilities of using my voice. While I mostly enjoy my other classes, my advocacy classes are the ones that I think about and talk about with other people, and they have helped me gain a perspective on so many other subjects." - Grace Springer '24, Media Advocacy student
