Senior Guest Fees/Dropping a Class

Please Note:

Senior Guests are responsible for all fees and auxiliary charges (parking, distance learning fees, etc).
1. Senior Guests who do not attend, and do not drop, a course in which they are enrolled will be assessed all related fees. Deadlines are listed in the Schedule of Classes.
2. Senior Guests may drop classes by contacting the Senior Guest program at lifelonglearning@kent.edu 330-672-3100.
Senior Guests should check their kent.edu email accounts for updates and e-bills.

General Information

What is the Senior Guest program at С��Ƭ��Ƶ?

The Senior Guest Program at С��Ƭ��Ƶ enables persons, 60 years of age or older to audit С��Ƭ��Ƶ courses on a tuition-free, space-available basis. No pre-registration is required. Lifelong Learning will contact the department/faculty and notify with an email whether your course request is approved or denied. Senior Guests do not receive grades and no credit is awarded. Senior Guests may request to enroll in 1 – 2 courses per semester, during a designated enrollment period. In all cases, the university's decision is final.

Begin by completing the application on the С��Ƭ��Ƶ Senior Guest website. during the senior guest registration. Dates are posted each semester.
No pre-registration required.

How can I view my ebill if I do not have access to a computer?

How do I park on campus?

Parking policies vary among campuses. Please check with each campus to determine parking policies.

Kent Campus:

Senior Guests may park in the Kent Student Center Visitor’s Lot, for up to two (2) hours, at no charge, with a Golden Buckeye Card and a card issued from Parking Services.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ Golden Buckeye Permits will be needed to exit the Student Center Lot (cash will not be accepted).
Permits are available, free of charge at KSU Parking Services.

How do I access a course in Canvas?

How to Access С��Ƭ��Ƶ Canvas Login Page

To access the С��Ƭ��Ƶ Canvas page, follow the procedures outlined below or Flashline right upper corner, click Canvas button.

To locate your online course(s) please Log in to Canvas: /canvas
Enter your username and password.
After that click on the login button to access your Canvas dashboard
Click on the ‘C�ǳܰ��’ link at the upper right-side corner of the screen to view all of your classes
Click on the course link that appears under ‘My Courses
Begin exploring the content of your course by utilizing the menu bar on the left side of your screen
Start by reviewing the syllabus and then continue by clicking on the course content.

How do I log into FlashLine?

New users:

Go to
Follow the instructions to register as a new user
You will use the last five digits of your С��Ƭ��Ƶ Identification Number (provided in your confirmation of admission letter) as part of your temporary password

Returning users:

Login to FlashLine at using your existing username and password
If you do not remember your password, please use the password reset option or contact the Help Desk at www.kent.edu/it

FlashLine will allow you to access online courses or supplementary materials, check your class schedule, make payments for DL course fees, materials, and Flash Books, as well as access your transcript
