As the spring semester kicks into full swing, so do the spring sports. The Golden Flashes begin full-team, full-contact practices after three weeks of positional work, which were essential to the teams potential for success. Attackman Cody Carson was quoted saying "One of our biggest weaknesses in the fall was our fundamentals. We realized we needed to get ourselves to a higher level before we went full go. Three weeks of stick work, conditioning, and offensive and defensive scheme work will put us way ahead of schedule so we can jump right in when we get into the field house." The team was able to overcome their weaknesses in the fall just through sheer numbers, but with the loss of 10 players, it will be much more difficult to compete with conference rivals Akron and Bowling Green. While the Flashes begin their season 3 weeks after Akron, the team will be much more prepared, having been able to jump right into full contact work without having to take time to work on fundamentals. The road to the NCLL championship will be a long one, but the Flashes expect to be prepared for anything they might be faced with.
