Graduate Programs

The department offers a comprehensive course of study leading to the Master of Science in Geology or the Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Geology. Our degree programs allow for great flexibility and a personalized course of study.

Each year, the full-time Graduate Faculty members support about 23 graduate students who pursue a broad range of research interests in Ohio or at field sites throughout the world. Approximately half of the faculty focus on Environmental Research (Water, Surface and Subsurface Processes; Geohazards; and Natural Resources). The department's other major focus is Evolution of Earth Systems Research (Climate Change, Paleoecology and Evolution, Crustal Processes).
