OCWiC Call for Applications
Meet and get to know women in technology.
The School of Emerging Media and Technology invites YOU to attend the Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing (OCWiC) conference. The conference will take place from February 21-22, 2025 at in Huron, OH.
What is this conference about?
Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing (OCWiC) brings together women working in technology with students and teachers. The conference is about:
- learning about careers and jobs
- connecting with students from other universities
- meeting mentors from industry
- advancing technical knowledge

How do I apply to attend?
Students interested in attending are asked to complete . The application is open now and will close on Friday, January 17, 2025.
There are two options for applying. While you are encouraged to do both, it is not necessary.
- Write a brief statement describing your career goals and why you want to attend. You may submit your application and statement by completing .
- Submit a poster or short talk proposal for the conference. You can visit to view more information about submitting proposals for instructions about submitting. The deadline for poster/paper submissions will be December 2, 2024. If you are planning to submit something, you may do so on the application. You may also indicate that you would like feedback with your idea or help learning about what is expected. If you are unsure of what to present on, we strongly encourage you to review or for examples of topics.
Who is eligible for funding to attend?
Funding is available for undergraduate and graduate С»ÆƬÊÓƵ students, regardless of major or program. All applications will be reviewed for clarity of connection between conference themes and applicant’s goals for attending. We expect to fund all students who apply, but space is limited. If necessary, funding will be awarded on a first-come basis, so apply as soon as you can.
How much does it cost?
For accepted KSU students, registration and overnight accommodations will be covered. Assistance with transportation is available for those who need it, but seats are limited. Students will be placed in double rooms unless they require special accommodations. Single rooms are available for an additional fee for those students who do not require special accommodations.
