In a ceremony held May 3 in Columbus, Ohio, WKSU was honored with 10 awards from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors, including the top award for General Excellence (an award presented to the large market radio station with the best showing in the competition). The event celebrated the best journalism in Ohio. It is the third year that contests for print and broadcast reporting were combined. WKSU reporter/producer Jeff St. Clair has been recognized by the Radio-Television-Digital News Association (RTDNA) with a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Sports Reporting. WKSU competes in the Large Market division against public and commercial radio stations in major cities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Eboni Pringle, Ph.D., of Kent, Ohio, has been selected as the new dean of the University College (formerly Undergraduate Studies) at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ after an internal search. Pringle has served as interim dean of the college since Oct. 1, 2012. East Liverpool – С»ÆƬÊÓƵ at East Liverpool held its 13th annual Earth Day Environmental Justice Conference last month, during which nearly 100 students presented essays, posters and online videos to address a wide range of related topics.
