The distance between downtown Canton and New York City is 444 miles, but the journey for aspiring fashion designer Andrea McEaddy begins at her hometown university.

On the campus of С��Ƭ��Ƶ at Stark, the 15-year-old McKinley High School junior learned about pursuing her dream this summer as part of the Bulldog Flash Academic Institute. 

“Being on a college campus really gives us a great introduction of what college will be like,” McEaddy said. “Coming here together, we have established a common goal that we can make it.”

Daylong seminar aims to equip young professionals with skills needed for workplace success.

In an effort to better equip the region’s young professionals with skills needed for success in the workplace, С��Ƭ��Ƶ at Stark’s Corporate University is pleased to offer the 2018 Young Professionals Conference.

The daylong session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 at С��Ƭ��Ƶ Stark’s Conference Center, 6000 Frank Ave. NW.

As the business world continues to grow more dynamic and complex, so does the role of the human-resource professional.

In response to this challenge, the Corporate University at С��Ƭ��Ƶ at Stark will hold the 2018 Human Resource Symposium on Thursday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Conference Center, 6000 Frank Ave. NW.

The public is invited to experience international food and live cultural performances.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ at Stark invites the community to Global Gateway Day on June 16.

Enjoy a family friendly summer afternoon filled with cultural performances, international food sampling, global games and activities for all ages. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Campus Center, 6000 Frank Ave. NW. This third annual event is free and open to the public.

Success for Mason Shuman may not always be an “A” on a student’s transcript. The real win is when students begin to understand Spanish and how learning a foreign language can broaden their worldview.

“Our world is getting smaller, and there are people out there who have totally different beliefs than our own,” said Shuman, who has served as an associate lecturer of Spanish for 12 years at С��Ƭ��Ƶ at Stark. 

Much like the students who frequent Flash’s Professional Closet on their way from classrooms to first day on the job or internship, the secondhand clothing site in Campus Center is making its mark in a new way. Now a storefront in Belden Village Mall, Flash’s Professional Closet has expanded its reach, thanks to a new community partnership.
