On chilly, gray days like today, people can find a place that's warm and green in the greenhouse behind Cunningham Hall on the Kent Campus
The Herrick Conservatory is home to a large and diverse selection of plants, plus some fish and a couple of turtles. Highlights of the collection include a 30-year-old rubber tree, a strawberry guava tree, banana trees, flowering plants and vegetables, succulents, tropical varieties and even carnivorous plants.
The conservatory is managed by Melissa Davis (pictured), horticultural facilities director. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. All members of the university community are welcome to visit.
