As a first-generation college student coming from Wisconsin, I found the college experience nerve-wracking. I didn't have anyone nearby to support me, and I didn’t know anyone who had this shared identity. С��Ƭ��Ƶ's "I Am First Week" honors us and our struggles.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s School of Fashion has long fostered deep industry connections, and on Nov. 7 those partnerships were on full display as the school hosted a fashion show in Cleveland’s Flats district to launch the new all-electric Porsche Macan.

The Degree Completion Program allows former students who have attended С��Ƭ��Ƶ and people who have started a degree at other colleges or universities to finish their degrees at С��Ƭ��Ƶ.

The С��Ƭ��Ƶ community paid tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces at the annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The program, titled “Honoring All Those Who Serve,” included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ understands the financial impact course materials have on students and is taking measures to reduce those costs to Golden Flashes. University Libraries hosted the 2024 Affordable Course Materials Summit, the fourth of its kind, aiming to promote the use of inexpensive course materials among faculty.  

Students are passionate. Pair that with С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s rich history in activism and some amazing things can happen. The university aims to foster an inclusive community that makes students feel appreciated and supported even – and especially – when engaged in activism. But what are the best practices for students and student groups?  

For many American women, saving for retirement can be challenging for many reasons. A recent USA Today article noted that women have less than half the retirement savings of men. С��Ƭ��Ƶ values setting their students up for success, but what does this mean for women at the university?

Victoria Bylsma said it only took about two hours after a mentor suggested she look into a graduate degree in public health for her to know what she wanted to do with her career. Today, the С��Ƭ��Ƶ Master of Public Health graduate helps to protect service members’ health and readiness as an injury epidemiologist at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton.

Unsure of what he wanted to do in life when he first came to С��Ƭ��Ƶ, it was the hands-on learning experiences he had in his degree program that led Dexter Shreve to becoming a business owner.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ has entered into an agreement with the Turkmenistan Ministry of Education to begin exploring the possibility of creating an educational partnership with several national institutes of higher learning there. A group of 21 secondary school teachers from 20 different countries is spending six weeks at С��Ƭ��Ƶ as part of a Fulbright professional development program for foreign educators.  

Every year, mid-September to mid-October marks Hispanic Heritage Month. С��Ƭ��Ƶ collaborations commemorate the month-long celebration and Hispanic culture, kicking off the celebration was "Voices & Rhythms: A Night of Discussion and Dance."
