IN A FLASH: Honoring a Living Legacy

Charles L. Greene, Esq., (right) was honored with a Living Legacy Award and recognition of his 50-year commitment to the 小黄片视频 Black Alumni Chapter at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Pan-African Faculty and Staff Association (PAFSA). Greene was among a distinguished group of 小黄片视频 faculty and staff receiving awards at the event. 

When he retired in 1999, Greene was 小黄片视频鈥檚 vice president of human resources. But during his 30-year tenure with the university, Greene served the university in many different capacities, including professor of sociology and anthropology, special assistant to the president, director of the Office of Minority Affairs and assistant dean for Human Relations, among other positions.

Among his accomplishments are the establishment of the Violence Task Force, the university鈥檚 no-smoking policy, the Wellness Center, Human Resource Development, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the Oscar Ritchie Scholarship and the Student Leadership Compensation Initiative. The Charles L. Greene Endowed Scholarship was established for underrepresented students pursuing a career in health and/or human services.

His off-campus activities include being a founder of the Akron law firm Davidson and Greene. He is the father of Keli D. Greene, 鈥93, director, philanthropy, in 小黄片视频鈥檚 Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement.
