At the meeting, we will discuss COF-CS expectations, eligibility and renewal criteria, schedule of events for the year, meeting attendance requirements and faculty advisor assignment. All COF-CS Scholars have the exceptional opportunity for an exciting CS research exposition under the supervision of one of our many vibrant research faculties. Your faculty advisor will be your mentor as you spend time in their lab working alongside other researchers in the field.

Topic: Internship and Job Applications During this event, staff from the Career Exploration and Development division will speak on numerous topics that will prepare you for internships and job applications. This will be one-hour interactive lecture and include topics such as using Handshake, resumes, and interviewing. Bring your laptops or electronic devise to work on your resumes and Handshake profiles while attending this event, if you can. |

Topic: Cybersecurity Awareness and Modern Election
Speaker: Sean Mcafee, Deputy Branch Chief Cyber Defense Education and Training, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, OSU Sean McAfee is the Section Chief for Higher Education at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). He has nearly fifteen years of operational cybersecurity and homeland security experience where he held various titles as Attaché, Staff Director, and Deputy Chief of Assessments and Technical Services. Sean also served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Ohio Secretary of State. Over his tenure his business and technical acumen include cyber leadership, program management, risk management, vulnerability assessments, cyber operations, social engineering, and insider threat. Sean holds a CISO certification from Carnegie Mellon University, a master’s degree in forensic psychology from Marymount University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The Ohio State University. |
