The LGBTQ+ Center is proud to present the annual Lavender Celebration, a special event recognizing the achievements of LGBTQ+ and ally students. This year’s celebration will take place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. The event will feature a keynote address from Pete Finnerty, Ph.D. (‘17), a distinguished clinical counselor, educator and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. This dinner and awards celebration is free, but registration is required. Registration closes Sunday, April 20.

Movers and Groovers is the annual service program organized by the Kent Interhall Council (KIC) to help new students move into the residence halls. Each year, we ask for a large group of volunteers to help with this effort. This fall, shifts will take place Aug. 13-14, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Movers & Groovers volunteers greet new students as they arrive on campus, help students move into their residence hall rooms, and answer questions they may have about moving in.

We're one week into the Hunger Challenge! Donate food items to keep up the fight against food insecurity in Portance County. Suggestions include canned vegetables and potatoes, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, Ramen noodles, pasta sauce and cereal. Officials say non-perishable, shelf-stable food items are most needed. Food items are being collected at the Ravenna Center of Hope and Kent Social Services Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. throughout April. Donation boxes will also be located at the Kent and Ravenna police departments. 

The С��Ƭ��Ƶ College of Nursing invites everyone to join the annual Race into Finals 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run on Saturday, May 3. This scenic run or walk supports the Race into Finals Emergency Fund, which assists nursing students during times of unexpected financial hardship. The 1-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m. Registration includes race timing, post-event snacks and an event T-shirt (guaranteed to participants who register by Wednesday, April 23). Register now to support a great cause and make a difference for С��Ƭ��Ƶ students!
