The Employee Wellness team has several opportunities for employees to hone resiliency skills in the new year. Remember, you are never too young or too old to work on resiliency, as individuals can improve these skill sets at any age. Resilient individuals do not wallow or dwell on failure; they acknowledge and learn from situations, and then move forward.
If these attributes sound like something you would like to work on, consider some, or all, of these upcoming programs on resiliency:
The Be Mindful, Be Resilient 28-Day Challenge – Starts Jan. 29
The Be Mindful, Be Resilient Challenge, a new 28-day program, is designed to teach mindful practices and techniques, which increases your overall resilience.
It is no secret that today’s modern and productivity-driven world leads us to wear many hats. We are family members, employees, volunteers, friends and more. The hats we wear or roles we play usually give and take on our energy levels and creates undue stress on our daily lives. This can negatively impact physical and emotional health, and cause us to engage in unhealthy habits. Practicing mindfulness has become an integral strategy to practice good self-care, reduce stress levels and improve resilience.
The program kicks off on Jan. 29 and is available to all full-time, benefits-eligible employees on all СƬƵ campuses. You do not have to be enrolled in one of the university-sponsored medical plans to participate.
Participants receive educational materials, weekly emails and unlimited telephonic health coaching. In addition, weekly random drawings for prizes will be provided by the Employee Wellness office to keep you motivated and support your wellness goals. Winners will be announced each week throughout the challenge.
You must participate in all four weeks of this challenge to qualify for your Tier 2 Wellness Reward points if participating in the Wellness Your Way employee incentive program. This challenge is worth 20 Tier Two wellness reward points.
