С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design students have been commissioned to create new design concepts for a redevelopment site in Warren, Ohio, as recently featured in the Youngstown Business Journal.
In the southwest corner of South Dakota, on the Nebraska border and at the southern end of the Badlands, sits the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. It is home to the Ogalala Lakota Nation.
This fall, faculty and students from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Salem traveled to the reservation in what has become an almost annual excursion. The COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to the trips over the last three years, which made this return visit quite significant for members of the group.
С»ÆƬÊÓƵ is tapping in to its talent pool of workers already employed by the university to meet the shortages of skilled maintenance workers.
The combination of passing on a love of Earth science while acting as a mentor for students is a perfect match for Eric Taylor, associate professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at С»ÆƬÊÓƵ at Stark.

A С»ÆƬÊÓƵ program is helping business owners retire by providing them succession plans to ease the transition in their companies.
Thanks to a $75,000 grant from Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Susan Harwood Training Grants Program, С»ÆƬÊÓƵ at Geauga is designing a pilot training program for workers from small businesses in underserved rural communities to help ensure safe and healthy workplaces. As part of the campus’ ongoing commitment to leadership in regional workforce development, the program will be implemented in Geauga County starting in the second quarter of 2023.
Empathy, warmth and kindness are things that Kathy Dwinnells, Ph.D., RN, CNS, CNE, associate professor in the College of Nursing at the Trumbull Campus, believes are important parts of a nursing education.
