Two student reporters from С��Ƭ��Ƶ had the opportunity to cover President Joe Biden's recent visit to East Palestine, Ohio. 

How often do you interact with artificial intelligence (AI) each day? Do you communicate with a chatbot for customer service? Does your fitness tracker remind you to move? Do you receive product recommendations based on previous purchases? Do you use AI to help you with school or work? As a public relations professor, I’m studying the ethical use of AI in the public relations field and guiding my students to ethically use AI tools.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ alumnus Richard Batyko, M.A., ’12, has committed his life and career to making the world, specifically Greater Cleveland, a better place. This year, he and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland (for which he serves as Chief Marketing Officer) are working with С��Ƭ��Ƶ advertising and public relations seniors in the capstone class, Campaigns in Advertising and Public Relations, to raise awareness about the organization's mission.

With fake news running rampant across the country, organizations like the News Literacy Project are on a mission to create better informed, more engaged and more empowered individuals. This spring, С��Ƭ��Ƶ public relations students earned national recognition for their work creating a campaign that advanced this non-profit’s mission. 

Sophie Young, ’23, a senior in the School of Media and Journalism, has always admired the New York Times and everything about it (including the Wordle).

“It’s a lot of what I consume,” she says. “I get three different New York Times emails in my Inbox every day, and I’ve been reading them for a long time.”

Collaboration and teamwork have been the common threads that have led С��Ƭ��Ƶ Media and Journalism alumna Raytevia Evans, M.A. ‘12, through teaching English abroad, graduate school, work as an education reporter and now, as a public information officer. She says that every time she’s produced work she’s proud of, it has been the result of a group project. 

In America, conversations about grief and loss are often avoided, and in art, tend to be sugarcoated, or even “corny.”

С��Ƭ��Ƶ Assistant Professor and independent filmmaker Dana White is changing that narrative through her work, and was recently recognized by the Ohio Arts Council.

As a digital media production student, Ailene Joven, '21, began creating the short film “Define” during the early days of COVID-19. Several years later, that film is set to be screened at the Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) on March 28, 2023.

Walking down the streets of Manhattan, surrounded by 49 college students of diverse backgrounds, С��Ƭ��Ƶ student Rafael Guedes Bonacin, ’23, felt at home, even though he was far from his native Brazil.
