С»ÆƬÊÓƵ has undergone two previous climate studies in 2016 and 2021. The data from these climate studies were used by multiple university committees to support their efforts for improving the university experience for students, faculty and staff. The data from the upcoming 2024 Engagement and Well-Being Survey will be used to continue these efforts for increasing sense of belonging for all Golden Flashes. 

In March of 2016, a university-wide survey was launched to identify strengths and barriers related to being a welcoming, engaging place that nurtures a culture of inclusiveness and respect. In 2020, the university completed and engaged in several different actions set to meet the needs of our community. However, after the murder of George Floyd in the summer of 2020 and the intergenerational and multi-ethnic protests it sparked across this country and on our campuses, President Diacon and Vice President Amoaba Gooden charged the campus to understand how our climate is specifically affected by race. This study was internally designed using the 2016 Climate Study as a benchmark for our 2021 study with a narrower focus on race and its intersections.  Click here for information regarding the 2021 Climate Study on Race.
