Since sports betting became legal in Ohio Jan. 1, 2023, television, social media, billboards and the like have been inundated with these comical ads. And Ohioans over 21 years of age, who can bet conveniently from their phones and at various venues such as casinos and bars, are part of the target audience. 

Advancing the legacy of May 4, 1970, a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard fired on С��Ƭ��Ƶ students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students, wounding nine students and forever changing the lives of countless others, the university will hold its annual commemoration on May 3-4.

The С��Ƭ��Ƶ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of six new majors during its regular quarterly meeting held March 9 in Columbus, Ohio, at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. Five of the new majors fall under the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, and one falls under the College of Arts and Sciences.

“Always Ready, Always There” is the motto of the National Guard. In many ways, this describes С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s Center for Adult and Veteran Services, too. For the 14th consecutive year, С��Ƭ��Ƶ has been designated a Military Friendly^Ⓡ School.

In a new partnership, the "" exhibit was recently installed on the walls of the  at the Washington National Cathedral so visitors can recognize the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 

Senior Brian Johnson traveled to Israel Jan. 3-13 with a group of 19 student leaders with the Student Leaders Trip to Israel sponsored by Hillel, a Jewish campus organization.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ has been notified by AudienceView, its third-party ticket sale vendor, that AudienceView has had a security breach. This breach may have affected customers who purchased tickets between Feb. 17 and Feb. 21 to university events for athletics, the College of the Arts and С��Ƭ��Ƶ Tuscarawas’ Performing Arts Center. According to AudienceView, the breach may have involved credit card information. 

С��Ƭ��Ƶ faculty members have been contacted by various media outlets to lend their expert opinions and insight as cleanup work, air monitoring, water testing and more continues following the Feb. 3 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

The С��Ƭ��Ƶ Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting on Thursday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. in the Robinson Room on the second floor of the Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph, 620 N. High St., in Columbus, Ohio, to consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business.

Black History Month had and continues to have a major impact in the lives of С��Ƭ��Ƶ community members. Some learned about Black History when they were very young, while others acquired knowledge as college students or adults. All, however, are grateful for the role that Black History Month has played in their lives.
