С��Ƭ��Ƶ President Todd Diacon announced Tuesday a massive, first-of-its-kind new student aid program that focuses on getting even more С��Ƭ��Ƶ Golden Flashes to graduation, and beyond. The Flashes Go Further Scholarship Program benefits С��Ƭ��Ƶ students from the state of Ohio, entering freshmen through graduating seniors, whose Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is 10,000 or under. It also incentivizes all С��Ƭ��Ƶ graduates to enroll in С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s graduate programs. 

С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s Flashes Go Further Scholarship Program covers unmet need for all in-state entering freshmen, continuing freshmen and current sophomores on the Kent Campus whose EFC is 10,000 or under. These recipients will receive aid to cover the full cost of tuition, general fees and up to $1,200 a year for books, meaning these students can graduate free of debt for tuition, general fees and books. Current full-time juniors and seniors on all С��Ƭ��Ƶ campuses whose EFC is 10,000 and under will receive aid in their last semester before graduation to cover the unmet need of the full cost of in-state tuition and general fees. 
 
This one-of-a-kind program offers more aid than comparable programs at other public institutions in Ohio. The program builds on the university’s national award-winning success in graduating more students. The program includes a $2,000 scholarship for all С��Ƭ��Ƶ students who enroll in a С��Ƭ��Ƶ master’s program after earning their undergraduate degrees, and it extends in-state graduate program tuition to out-of-state students when they graduate from С��Ƭ��Ƶ.

“This program is a testament to our deep commitment to access and completion for all,” Diacon noted. “We are consistently recognized nationally for our success in graduating more students. Our graduation rate is already the highest in northern Ohio, but we won’t rest until all students we enroll graduate and succeed in their first jobs after college or enroll in our graduate programs.”

The new student aid program is based on С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s mission to transform lives and communities through the power of discovery, learning and creative expression and the university’s commitment to access and completion. In fact, С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s Regional Campuses already offer tuition at a discounted rate, making access affordable.

“For years, we have succeeded in expanding access and degree completion,” Diacon said. “In today’s world, with rising costs, access is now only half the challenge. With the Flashes Go Further Scholarship Program, we will increase our sector-leading graduation success even further, ensuring that our students not only enroll but cross the finish line and graduate.”

С��Ƭ��Ƶ awards nearly 10,000 degrees and certificates to students annually and has the highest graduation rate among public universities in northern Ohio.
