С»ÆƬÊÓƵ, the city of Kent and the Portage Area Regional Transit Authority (PARTA) jointly have committed to the economic development of retail/entertainment areas serving students, employees and guests of the university and the city.
С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s first major construction project to create a new signature gateway to the Kent Campus will begin in the summer of 2020. At its Dec. 4 meeting, the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Board of Trustees approved the construction of the university’s first parking deck.
С»ÆƬÊÓƵ’s long-standing relationship with the Tuscarawas County University Branch District to administer the Tuscarawas Campus of С»ÆƬÊÓƵ will continue through June 30, 2030, in a new 10-year agreement approved by the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Board of Trustees.
The С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Board of Trustees on Wednesday unanimously approved a new collective bargaining agreement with the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP-KSU), which represents tenured and tenure-track faculty.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Ann Womer Benjamin, J.D., of Aurora, Ohio, to the С»ÆƬÊÓƵ Board of Trustees. Her appointment began June 21, 2019, and ends May 16, 2028.
