At a ceremony held April 11, 2019, nearly 50 years after his own graduation, John Elliot, ’70, and his wife, Fonda, were present as the architecture and environmental design building was officially named “The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design.”

A team of С��Ƭ��Ƶ students took first place in the seventh annual Mission: Life international competition on November 12, which took place at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s Giving Tuesday 2018 broke the million-dollar mark for the second year in a row.

With the launch of its 2018 Giving Tuesday campaign on Nov. 1, С��Ƭ��Ƶ has again transformed what was just a one-day fundraising initiative into a monthlong giving campaign to support student scholarships, expanded programs, study away initiatives and 21st-century facilities.

Throughout the month of November 2018, alumni and friends of С��Ƭ��Ƶ have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact on the lives of our students and on С��Ƭ��Ƶ.

John and Fonda Elliot have become the largest donors in С��Ƭ��Ƶ’s history, providing the largest total outright gift of $10 million as well as a $2 million planned gift, benefiting the College of Architecture and Environmental Design.

С��Ƭ��Ƶ professor of art, Jennifer Jones, hopes to engage and inspire a community and С��Ƭ��Ƶ students though planned murals within The Summit County Department of Job and Family Services building in Akron.

Art has the power to change the world. С��Ƭ��Ƶ faculty member Chris Coles aspires to use the arts to make a powerful impact on social injustice and violence in our communities.
